Responsibilities

  • Handling daily on-boarding of new users; investigating flagged applications (PEP and sanctions) and monitor KYC/KYT requirements for existing clients.
  • Conducting standard & enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews, PEP/Sanctions screening on customers and AML investigations as appropriate.
  • Assisting in the performance of the compliance audits.
  • Ongoing review all approved clients using web platform and automated KYC / AML providers.
  • Completing the account set-up of institutional clients within the reasonable timeframe, balancing clients’ needs and requests.
  • Update client on a regular basis with the on-boarding status and developments.
  • Assisting in the overall operation of the business including internal and external compliance, AML, corporate governance, and risk activities.
  • Assisting in the development and enhancement of AML and CTF frameworks, compliance policies and procedures, and update in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Create internal reports as required.

Qualifications

  • Have 3+ years' experience in an AML/KYC role within a financial institution (banking/ brokerage / asset management / fund management).
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Business/ Finance / Economics / Law or equivalent
  • Must have experience working on the AML/CTF and compliance regulatory frameworks of the VARA or SCA or Central Bank.
  • Have basic understanding of company’s structure, types of legal entities,
  • Strong communication skills and presence with the ability to speak with impact, influence outcomes; simplify complex topics into actionable recommendations for decision-making.
  • Able to critically think to solve complex problems with no established precedence while balancing risk, speed, accuracy, and embracing pace over perfection.
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to confront conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive and proactive manner.
  • Fluent in English
  • Arabic language is advantage.
  • Certifications in AML/CTF and Compliance (CAMS, ICA, ACFCS etc.) is preferred.
