Job Description: Aquaai is seeking a talented and passionate backend engineer to join our team in designing and developing innovative underwater bio-inspired robots for subsurface monitoring. As a Junior Backend Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers to design, develop, and maintain backend services that power our dashboard. Responsibilities & Functions: Collaborate with other engineers to design and implement backend solutions using Python. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers to create cutting-edge solutions for waterways monitoring. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality. Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing codebase. Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services with front-end applications. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with software development lifecycle in a team (code reviews, version control, tests) Proficiency in Python programming language. Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases. Excellent problem-solving skills English communication skills. Company language is English and you MUST be able to communicate well in English the good, bad & ugly while building what others deem the impossible. Curious, positive, excited, humorous are all a plus. Nice to Have: Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies. Experience with ROS or ROS2 (Robot Operating System). C++ experince The boldness to think out of the box and propose unconventional solutions.
