Why ‘Corona’? Doesn’t seem to be the best name for a company nowadays! It predates the pandemic by a few years and I guess we have to weather the storm! The company is named after the ship that took the Nicol Family as new immigrants from Glasgow, Scotland to Dunedin, New Zealand in 1874. John Nicol emigrated from New Zealand to Canada in 2000. The company name reflects the continuing journey and the fearless exploration of the unknown. Corona is currently working on bringing an enterprise level eXtended Reality solution to market. The ‘X’ is a combination of Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Realities. The solution is a unique, data driven collaboration space for distributed enterprise operations. Not just about powerpoint presentations and social interaction. The technology enables data from real systems, simulated platforms or digital twins to be visualised and manipulated for planning or real-time operations. It is a development platform and framework that can be used to create experiences specific to customer requirements.
