What you’ll do
As a QC Technician at Giga, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our transformers, switchboards, and modular data center systems meet the highest quality standards before they reach our customers. You’ll be hands-on with inspection, testing, and documentation—helping us deliver safe, reliable, and consistent products to some of the fastest-growing industries in the world. This is a great opportunity to get close to production, problem-solve in real time, and directly influence the success of our products in the field.
Where you’ll work
This role will be based full-time in our Long Beach production facility. You must be willing to work on-site daily to collaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and visual inspections on transformers, switchboards, and related assemblies
- Document inspection results, maintain records, and generate quality reports for internal teams and customers
- Identify, report, and help resolve nonconformances in collaboration with engineering and production teams
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to prevent recurring issues
- Calibrate and maintain testing and inspection equipment according to company standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and production efficiency
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in quality control, testing, or inspection in a manufacturing or electrical environment
- Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical inspection techniques and tools
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
- Proficiency with measurement tools (multimeters, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Strongl attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly and accurately
- High school diploma or equivalent
Bonus points
- Experience in the electrical equipment, transformer, or switchgear industry
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
- Certification in quality inspection or related field (e.g., ASQ CQT)
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth manufacturing environment
