About us
We're building Zavi, an AI product for founders and operators. We're in closed pilot — early, focused, and shipping every week. The product isn't publicly announced yet; you'll learn what we're building in the interview.
We run it alongside our own business: a peer-to-peer car rental marketplace called Upcar, which means what we build gets pressure-tested in the real world every day. We're bootstrapped and shipping constantly.

The role
You're the product manager for Zavi. You own demand for the product and the product itself, from discovery to ship to the growth loop that gets it adopted. You start hands-on across everything and grow into owning the function. The mandate is simple. Build something founders trust, and get it into their hands.
It's a zero to one seat. You wear every hat early, talk to users, write the specs, prioritize ruthlessly, and partner with a founder who builds the product with you in real time. High ownership, high autonomy, a direct line to the founder and Head of Product.
What you'll do
- Build the product, hands-on. Talk to founders, find the sharp problem, help decide what to build and why, write specs engineers build from, and ship. You shape the what and the why, not just the when.
- Care about growth, not just the roadmap. Work on distribution, activation, and retention. Think about how Zavi reaches founders and earns its place, not only what it does.
- Sequence trust. Define what "reliable enough to charge for" means for an AI agent, and sequence the zero to one so customers trust it with real work. Decide where a human stays in the loop.
- Prioritize in chaos. Ship weekly with a founder who codes daily and a small team. Cut scope hard, make the call, keep moving.
- Measure everything. Stand up the tracking, read the funnel, and report what's actually moving, not vanity numbers.
- Use AI to go faster. Use AI tools daily to research, draft, prototype, and self-learn, and bring judgment on what agents can and can't be trusted to do.
Your first 90 days
- Deep in conversations with founders, with a clear, written read on the sharpest problems Zavi should own next.
- Specs shipping, a working cadence with the founder and engineers, and product going out weekly.
- One growth or distribution lever picked up and moving, with a clean metric behind it.
- A point of view on what "reliable enough to charge for" means, reflected in what we build and in what order.
Scope
You start on Zavi, the zero to one AI product. You'll also help grow Upcar, our live peer-to-peer car rental marketplace, when it moves the bet. Broad surface, real impact, fast.
Must-haves
- 3 to 5 years of total experience, with at least 2 years in product management.
- You've built a product from scratch. You've helped take at least one product from a blank page to a live thing people used, hands-on with the what and the why, not just delivery or program management. This is a hard requirement.
- Zero to one background. You came up building in early-stage ambiguity, where nothing was figured out and you had to find the path, rather than optimizing a mature product on a big team. Hard requirement.
- You've worked a growth or distribution lever. Activation, retention, a channel, a funnel, adoption, you've moved a number, not just shipped features. Hard requirement.
- Communication. You think and speak crisply. You can take a messy problem and make it clear. This is the bar we weight heaviest.
- Scrappy, fast, self-directing. You don't wait for perfect instructions. You learn by building.
- Comfortable being a hands-on IC in a fast, chaotic, daily-shipping environment.
Strong pluses
- You live in AI tools. You use them daily to build and self-learn, and you have judgment on where to trust an agent and where not to. (We don't need deep ML, our engineers carry that.)
- Built for a B2B SaaS, marketplace or two-sided platform.
- Growing US or Western markets. That's our primary market.
- Breadth beyond product, growth, GTM, design, or the founder-side of building a business.
