The Opportunity:

To support the firm’s continued growth, Onex is seeking an Associate – Project Management, Client & Product Solutions, to help us execute our global fundraising and client relations efforts. This role will focus on our Private Equity products. Reporting to the Principal, Client & Product Solutions, you will support the institutional client team and marketing and project management function. You will be part of high-level strategic agenda conversations with direct exposure to senior stakeholders; substantive project ownership and responsibility for driving work from end-to-end; and interacting, alongside relationship managers, with prospective LPs globally.

What you will do:

  • Partner with senior team members on raising, marketing and structuring funds
  • Work closely with investment professionals and deal teams to understand the current portfolio, deal pipeline, and overall market dynamics
  • Create and update marketing materials, quarterly presentations, and draft investor letters
  • Lead modules of live fundraising for firmwide products
  • Maintain an open dialogue with investors, and provide ongoing LP support
  • Maintain and update a database of existing and prospective investors
  • Prepare in-depth investor research to support outreach efforts, and develop/maintain research on the competitive landscape
  • Address ongoing and ad hoc current and prospective investor requests
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and assist in expanding the firm’s investor relationships
  • Work collaboratively within the group and the firm in a manner that is focused on the group and the firm’s missions, values and goals
  • Work in partnership with the investor coverage team and product specialists to ensure that we are being efficient with investors’ time, inclusive when appropriate, and investor interaction is effective and successful
  • Support the team-oriented nature of the group, proffering insights and opinions and sharing market intelligence particularly about areas that can directly or immediately impact the group, firm’s and other individuals’ success

What you will bring:

  • 2-4 years of investor relations, investment banking or management consulting experience; ideally with prior exposure to private equity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build rapport and trust with team members.
  • An analytical, detail orientation with experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A bias for action, ability to work under pressure, effectively multi-task and adhere to many concurrent deadlines.
  • Ability to both identify problems and provide potential solutions; someone who raises questions, gives opinions/ideas, and is eager to learn.
  • Takes ownership of work and brings a self-starter orientation.
  • High level of professionalism and maturity with an ability to interact and build relationships with people of differing levels of seniority.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is mandatory; experience with CRM software is considered an asset.
