Role Overview:
The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for driving the strategic growth and operational success of the company in the UAE. This role requires a high-energy, driven leader with a deep understanding of the local business landscape, cultural nuances, international business development, and early-stage startups. The GM will be instrumental in aligning business strategy, market opportunities, and partnerships to accelerate growth. They will work closely with the executive leadership team, local stakeholders, and international partners to ensure business objectives are met. The position is based in the UAE and requires a strong regional presence with occasional international travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Leadership & Market Strategy
- Develop and execute the company’s strategic vision in the UAE, leveraging deep local market insights.
- Identify, connect with, and capitalize on business opportunities, connecting startups, investors, and key stakeholders.
- Serve as the company’s primary representative in the region, ensuring strong visibility and engagement.
- Bridge global strategy with local execution, ensuring alignment between international trends and regional needs.
- Interact closely with the CEO, the board of directors, and the leadership team and proactively ensure open communication.
Operational Management & Execution
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Implement best practices in supply chain, logistics, and customer engagement tailored to the UAE market.
- Navigate regulatory and compliance requirements with a strong understanding of the local business environment.
- Lead and build cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
Growth, Partnerships & Market Expansion
- Establish and nurture relationships with investors, government bodies, industry leaders, and startup ecosystems.
- Develop partnerships to enhance market positioning and drive revenue growth.
- Lead expansion efforts, leveraging local networks and international experience to scale operations.
- Oversee branding, marketing, and business development strategies to strengthen market presence.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team aligned with the company’s mission.
- Foster a culture of agility, innovation, and execution, ensuring a results-driven mindset.
- Mentor and empower employees, creating a dynamic and motivated work environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in early-stage startups and/or high-growth industries.
- Strong track record of driving business growth in the UAE with an international perspective.
- Deep understanding of local culture, market trends, and regulatory frameworks.
- High-energy, driven, and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to connect diverse stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to navigate between global strategy and local execution seamlessly.
