This is a Full-Time, remote position for an individual passionate about building and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the systems that power our core services, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and highly available. The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $160,000 USD per annum, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the backbone of our service delivery. Your key duties will include:
- Designing, deploying, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring optimal uptime and reliability for our web hosting and domain services.
- Implementing and maintaining robust security measures and best practices to protect company assets and customer data.
- Managing containerisation and orchestration platforms, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborating closely with development teams to optimise application performance and facilitate seamless deployments.
- Performing cost analysis and optimising cloud expenditure to ensure financial efficiency.
- Creating and maintaining clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key qualifications include:
- Proven professional experience in a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Solid experience with containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- A thorough understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and implementing automated pipelines.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a remote team.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
