Job Overview

The Institute of Knowledge (IOK) is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team. Based in Albany, New York, United States, this is a Full-Time position responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of our organisation's payroll. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the staff who deliver our wide range of Islamic educational programmes and community services. As a key member of our administrative team, you will help IOK fulfil its mission to foster a finer future through high-quality programming. This role offers a competitive salary of $30 - $40 USD per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process end-to-end payroll for all employees in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Collect, verify, and process timesheet information and attendance records.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and any other pay adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with all US federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and changes to employee pay and status.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all payroll information and employee records.
  • Address and resolve any payroll-related queries or discrepancies from employees promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare and generate payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including the production of W-2 forms.
  • Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar payroll-focused role.
  • A strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and US employment regulations.
  • High proficiency in using payroll software and systems.
  • Excellent numerical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional and proactive approach to problem-solving.
