Abounding Grace Foundation is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Bookkeeper to join our team in Pasadena, California. As our Bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our foundation, allowing us to continue our important mission. This position offers flexibility and can be structured as either a full-time or part-time role depending on the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining our financial records and managing all bookkeeping duties. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Managing all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Processing and accurately recording donations, grants, and other income.
- Conducting regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements for a non-profit organisation.
- Maintaining a clear and organised system of financial records and documentation.
- Liaising with external accountants for annual audits and tax preparations.
- Processing payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles. Key qualifications include:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- A solid understanding of bookkeeping best practices and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with MS Excel.
- The ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity.
- Experience working within a non-profit or charitable organisation is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
