We’re seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. In this full-time role, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that underpins our market intelligence efforts.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Data Pipeline Architect: Design, develop, test, and maintain robust data pipelines that seamlessly transfer and transform data, ensuring smooth information flow.
- Data Quality Champion: Implement and enforce data quality standards to guarantee the accuracy and consistency of our data sets. This includes data cleaning, validation, and monitoring processes.
- Data Acquisition Specialist: Facilitate the acquisition of external data sources, expanding our knowledge base and enriching our market intelligence capabilities.
- ETL & Data Analysis Guru: Provide expert support to internal stakeholders and customers on ad-hoc ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data analysis requests, empowering them with the information they need. This includes responding to ad-hoc reporting and analytics tasks for higher management.
- Data Warehouse Collaborator: Assist in the design and implementation of a comprehensive data warehouse to house and manage market intelligence data effectively.
- Data Wrangler Extraordinaire: Assemble and structure complex datasets to perfectly align with both functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Dashboard Whisperer (Optional): Leverage your knowledge of dashboarding tools to create insightful and user-friendly visualizations of market intelligence data (a plus!).
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a demonstrably equivalent background.
- 4-6 years of experience in data engineering, preferably in a cloud environment.
- Strong foundation in SQL and database management (experience with PL/SQL is a plus).
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling.
- Solid understanding of data management concepts including data modeling, database design, tuning, and optimization.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A keen analytical mind with the ability to meticulously handle and interpret large datasets.
- Familiarity with data warehouse (OLAP) concepts is a plus.
Bonus Points:
- Knowledge of cloud data warehouse solutions (GCP or AWS).
- Experience with Hadoop technologies (Apache Spark, Hive).
