About The Role
The Compliance Manager & MLRO is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the company's compliance program. This role serves as a strategic partner in ensuring that Tarabut operates in full adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices. They will help to establish and maintain effective compliance policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and protect the organization.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's compliance program
- Oversee the day-to-day compliance operations, including monitoring, testing, and reporting
- Analyze relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidelines to assess their impact on the company's operations and develop appropriate compliance strategies
- Responsible for licensing applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance is embedded throughout the organization
- Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance & AML training programs for employees
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to business units on compliance-related matters
- Prepare compliance reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors
- Represent the compliance function in meetings with regulatory bodies and external auditors
- Stay up to date on emerging compliance trends, best practices, and technological advancements
- Prepare department budget and allocation of resources
- Build relationships with Central Bank of Bahrain and others in the region to assist the Group with expansion
- Main point of contact to address all regulator and governmental authority queries, directives, etc.
- Developing corporate governance framework and facilitating Board related activities (Board meetings, board inductions, board assessments, etc.)
- Effectively identifying compliance risks, monitoring them and ensuring proper resolution.
- Conducting AML/CFT risk assessment, client onboarding, designing and implementing AML/CFT manual, and main point of contact for SARs /STRs.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in law, compliance, or a related field
- 5 years+ of experience in compliance & AML, preferably in the fintech or financial services industry
- Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments and implementing effective compliance programs
- Strong understanding of financial regulations arising from CBB, MOICT, UAE CB and SAMA .
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar certification (ICA, ACAMS, etc.) is preferred.
- An understanding of financial regulations relating to UAE CB and SAMA would be advantageous but not essential.
