Who We Are

Thndr was founded with a dream to democratize investing. We wanted to give anyone with a smartphone the ability to grow and preserve their wealth. What access and knowledge only few had, we wanted to extend to many. This, we believe, can only be achieved by increasing (and deepening) participation in local capital markets.

History has shown that investing is the single greatest way to build long term wealth. However, there are a lot of barriers that prevent every day Saudi individuals from meaningfully participating in the stock market. The most significant of which is low financial literacy – personal finance and investing are rarely taught at home or school.

The journey so far
Thndr launched in Egypt in 2020 and in less than four years, we’ve introduced 296K first-time investors to the Egyptian Stock Exchange. That’s 66% of all investors on the EGX. Thndr’s app is sleek and easy to use, but that alone doesn’t explain why users felt confident to start their investing journey with us. We attribute much of that result to our commitment to educational content, be it easy-to-understand articles or accessible videos on social media.

Our KSA Vision
We’re coming to Saudi with the same mindset. Similar to Egypt, Saudi society struggles with low rates of financial literacy. This problem has been identified by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and is best quantified by the household savings rate, which currently stands at 1.6% of total household income. Saudi’s Vision 2030 National Savings and Financial Literacy Strategy has set a target of increasing this to 10% by 2030. Through code and content – our bread and butter – we will work diligently to help achieve this goal.

Role in A Nutshell

As the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing all marketing activities within the organization. You will play a crucial role in developing and executing the marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth. This position requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, creative vision, and leadership skills; someone who has lived the Saudi culture will be ideal for this role. You will be directly reporting to the Saudi Market GM, with a dotted line and strong collaboration needed with the individual Heads of Brand & Content.

What You'll Do

  • Develop Marketing Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. Identify target markets, customer segments, and key messaging to effectively position the brand.
  • Brand Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of the company's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for brand differentiation.
  • Build In-House Creative Capabilities: The Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing our in-house creative capabilities. He/she needs to have a creative eye and be able to manage content creation effectively.
  • Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing initiatives, including website development, SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, and online advertising. Stay updated with emerging digital marketing trends and technologies to optimize online presence and drive customer engagement.
  • Campaign Planning and Execution: Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across various channels, both online and offline. Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to create compelling content, visuals, and messaging that resonate with target audiences.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and opportunities. Use data-driven insights to refine marketing strategies and optimize campaign performance.
  • Team Leadership: Build, motivate, and lead a high-performing marketing team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve marketing objectives. Monitor and track marketing expenses, ROI, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Development, and Operations to align marketing efforts with overall business goals. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners, agencies, and vendors.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Establish metrics and analytics frameworks to measure marketing performance and effectiveness. Generate regular reports and present insights to management, showcasing the impact of marketing initiatives on business growth.

What We're Looking For?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Strong marketing experience with proven experience in brand building, meeting consumer needs, delivering successful communication programs, innovation launches and brand activations
  • Familiarity with the local market and cultural nuances.
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies.
  • Experience in managing and optimizing marketing budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation in marketing strategies.
  • Strong creative skills for content and brand development.
