Role Introduction

We're seeking a Network & Telephony Engineer to lead on-premise telephony infrastructure setup and SIP integration for our enterprise AI deployments at CozmoX AI. You will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining client-site network configurations, ensuring seamless voice communication capabilities. This is a hybrid role that combines deep technical SIP/VoIP expertise with strong deployment execution on client premises. Your work will directly impact the performance and quality of our AI voice employees across mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation and configuration of SIP-based telephony systems, routers, and switches on client premises for CozmoX AI deployments.
  • Integrate VoIP infrastructure with client PBX systems (Asterisk, FreePBX, Avaya, Cisco, etc.) ensuring low latency and high call quality.
  • Work closely with CozmoX AI’s AI engineering and infra teams to define telephony requirements, call routing logic, and SIP trunking architecture.
  • Configure SBCs (Session Border Controllers), firewalls, NAT traversal, and QoS settings to ensure secure and reliable voice traffic.
  • Troubleshoot VoIP and SIP call flow issues using tools like Wireshark, sngrep, and SIP debuggers, ensuring uptime and performance SLAs are met.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate network readiness and advise on infrastructure upgrades needed for AI voice employee performance.
  • Collaborate with client IT teams and telephony providers to provision and test SIP trunks, DIDs, and number routing plans.
  • Maintain documentation of telephony deployments, IP schemas, security configurations, and failover/redundancy planning.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for all network and voice issues across active CozmoX AI client installations.
  • Implement best practices for secure, redundant, and scalable voice networks to support 24/7 AI employee availability.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with SIP-based VoIP deployments, including end-to-end integration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of SIP protocol, SDP, RTP, and call flow diagnostics.
  • Proven experience installing and configuring enterprise network equipment including routers, switches, SBCs, 3CX, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, MikroTik).
  • Familiarity with PBX platforms (Asterisk, FreePBX, Cisco CallManager, etc.) and cloud telephony platforms (Twilio, DID Logic, etc.).
  • Proficient with tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and sngrep for packet-level analysis.
  • Comfortable working on client premises, often in collaboration with local IT teams, and managing end-to-end installations independently.
  • Solid knowledge of IP networking, subnetting, VLANs, QoS, NAT, VPNs, and VoIP-related firewall rules.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or related technical field.
  • Industry certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA, CompTIA Network+).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience deploying voice infrastructure in BFSI, government, or healthcare environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to telephony in MENA (e.g., TRA, CITC).
  • Familiarity with remote monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Zabbix, PRTG, Prometheus).
  • Experience integrating AI-driven IVR or voicebot platforms.
  • Ability to document systems clearly and hand off to internal/partner support teams.
  • Strong client-facing skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
