About the Role:
Trella is seeking a Cross-Border Commercial Lead to build, scale, and own the commercial performance of our cross-border logistics operations. This role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key shipper accounts, developing supply networks, and building a high-performing cross-border commercial team.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on commercial leader with strong experience in sales, account management, supply acquisition, and market expansion within cross-border or international logistics.
What You'll Do:
Commercial & Sales Leadership
Own and grow cross-border revenue across assigned corridors and markets.
Develop and execute the cross-border commercial strategy in line with Trella’s growth objectives.
Acquire new shipper accounts and expand existing ones through upselling, cross-selling, and long-term partnerships.
Manage pricing, negotiations, contracts, and commercial terms with customers.
Account Management
Act as the main point of contact for key cross-border shipper accounts.
Ensure high customer satisfaction through reliable execution, proactive communication, and performance reviews.
Work closely with operations to ensure service quality, SLA adherence, and issue resolution.
Identify opportunities to increase wallet share and long-term contract commitments.
Supply Acquisition & Management
Lead supply acquisition efforts for cross-border lanes, including fleet owners, transporters, and partners.
Ensure sufficient, reliable, and compliant supply to support demand growth.
Work with operations and compliance teams to manage onboarding, documentation, and performance of cross-border suppliers.
Optimize supply cost, utilization, and reliability across corridors.
Team Building & People Management
Hire, onboard, and develop a dedicated cross-border commercial team (sales, account managers, and support roles).
Set clear targets, KPIs, and performance expectations for the team.
Coach and mentor team members to build strong commercial and negotiation capabilities.
Foster a high-ownership, results-driven, and collaborative team culture.
Market Expansion & Partnerships
Identify new cross-border corridors, markets, and growth opportunities.
Build partnerships with freight forwarders, agents, and ecosystem players.
Monitor market trends, competition, and regulatory changes impacting cross-border logistics.
Support strategic initiatives and pilots to test and scale new routes or business models.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Track and report commercial performance, pipeline, revenue, and profitability.
Work closely with Operations, Finance, Legal, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure scalable and compliant growth.
Provide commercial input on product improvements and operational enhancements for cross-border services.
What You'll Need:
6–10+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or cross-border trade.
Proven track record in sales, key account management, and revenue growth.
Experience building and managing commercial teams is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of cross-border operations, pricing, and supply dynamics.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Data-driven mindset with strong commercial judgment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
