zypl.ai is a SaaS AI platform that helps financial institutions make more accurate decisions using synthetic data and artificial intelligence. We work with 50+ financial organizations across 20+ countries. 1ziyo is our joint venture with UZCard in Uzbekistan.
We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in Tashkent. You will work on the development and deployment of credit scoring, fraud detection, collection scoring, and provisioning (IFRS 9) models for clients in Uzbekistan and the Central Asian region, utilizing various data sources - including transactional data from UZCard itself.
Responsibilities
Develop, train, and validate ML models for credit scoring, fraud detection, collection scoring, and provisioning
Work with the proprietary synthetic data generator zGAN: configure pipelines, run experiments with data generation, and evaluate data quality
Perform feature engineering, data analysis, and dataset preparation for modeling
Deploy models via the Lucid platform (zypl.ai's no-code AI platform)
Monitor model performance in production, detect drift, and retrain models as needed
Conduct code reviews for junior team members, provide mentorship, and share knowledge
Participate in sprint planning and task estimation
Collaborate with the R&D team at headquarters on architecture and new approaches
Requirements
3+ years of experience in ML/Data Science for a Middle position, or 5+ years for a Senior role
Deep understanding of classical ML algorithms: logistic regression, gradient boosting (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost), random forest, etc.
Experience with tabular data, financial datasets, and credit scoring is a strong plus
Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy) and SQL
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker
Solid understanding of model quality metrics: Gini, KS, AUC-ROC, PSI, calibration
Experience with monitoring production models (drift, degradation, retraining)
English: sufficient for reading technical documentation and communicating with HQ (both written and spoken)
Nice to Have
Experience with synthetic data or generative models (GAN, VAE)
Background in fintech or banking
Experience mentoring or leading a small ML team
Familiarity with MLflow, Airflow, or similar MLOps tools
