The Middle+ DevOps Engineer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting, automating, and optimizing operations across the zypl.ai products. The role combines deep expertise in infrastructure with a strong operational mindset, ensuring that pipelines and services are reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
This position plays a key role in implementing best practices in integration, deployment, monitoring, and security, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in data operations.
Operational Excellence:
Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of pipelines and services using modern DevOps practices.
Governance & Monitoring:
Define, implement, and maintain governance policies for data pipelines and cloud data services. Develop and manage dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to monitor operational performance, job executions, and system reliability.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve data-related incidents and performance bottlenecks, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:
Lead initiatives to adopt industry best practices in data integration, data security, performance optimization, and infrastructure as code.
Collaboration & Mentoring:
Work closely with software development, cloud infrastructure, and security teams. Mentor developers and junior devops specialists, and provide technical guidance on architectural decisions and process improvements.
Strategic Input:
Provide management with accurate task duration estimates, technical insights, and recommendations for future enhancements in data operations.
Essential Skills:
5+ years of overall technical experience, including at least 3+ years with a proven track record in DevOps and Development (experience with ML is a plus).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in designing and deploying CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and infrastructure.
Deep understanding of cloud infra (preferably on Azure/AWS) and experience working with tools such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Event Hub, AKS, CosmosDB, Kafka/Nats (experience with Openshift is a plus).
Expertise in Python and SQL skills.
Solid background in building and operating highly available, distributed systems for data ingestion, processing, and storage.
Familiarity with monitoring tools and practices (e.g., Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana) and logging tools (e.g., Filebeat, Logstash, Vector).
Desirable Knowledge/Abilities:
Working in regulated environments (e.g., online payments or financial services) is a plus.
Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) are beneficial.
Knowledge of networks, linux, devops tools (ansible, terraform, helm, gitlab ci).
Familiarity with streaming solutions, and real-time data processing.
Familiarity with machine learning tools (e.g., MLFlow, Kubeflow, etc) and data quality tools (e.g., dbt, soda, etc).
