Mission of the CEO

The CEO will own AION's transition from build-phase to scale-phase — deepening domestic market penetration while elevating AION's international visibility and partnerships. This includes:

  • Driving full-scale adoption of AION's infrastructure across Tajikistan's financial and public institutions

  • Growing and strengthening the partner network — both deepening relationships with founding signatories and onboarding new banks, MFIs, telcos, and fintechs

  • Representing AION in global policy, development, and AI finance forums

  • Securing regional and international cooperation to export the AION model to other markets

Key Responsibilities

1. Domestic Execution & Partner Growth

  • Lead full-scale rollout and continuous improvement of AION's credit infrastructure across Tajikistan

  • Deepen integration and value delivered to existing partners (banks, MFIs, telcos, regulators), while actively expanding the partner base

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with national financial and data protection laws

  • Drive adoption and iteration of credit history, AI scoring, fraud detection, and portfolio analytics products based on partner and market feedback

2. International Positioning & Strategic Representation

  • Engage with international financial institutions (IFIs), donor organizations, and policy bodies

  • Build AION's visibility as a replicable AI-native credit bureau model for LMICs

  • Represent AION at international conferences, summits, and in relevant publications

  • Develop and pursue proposals for regional pilots and funding partnerships, supporting AION's expansion beyond Tajikistan

3. AI Innovation & Ecosystem Integration

  • Work closely with zypl.ai to align AION's roadmap with national AI capacity development

  • Champion ethical AI and financial inclusion standards in ongoing product development

  • Guide continued evolution of interoperable APIs and data infrastructure (data lake, zScore, zGAN)

4. Leadership & Governance

  • Build out and lead a multidisciplinary team across product, engineering, compliance, and partnerships

  • Strengthen governance structures, risk management, and investor/stakeholder reporting as AION scales

  • Foster a culture of mission-driven execution, integrity, and excellence

Ideal Candidate Profile

Core Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, credit bureaus, fintech, or digital transformation

  • Proven leadership in multi-stakeholder environments (e.g., central banks, governments, IFIs)

  • Strong understanding of credit risk systems, digital infrastructure, and regulatory landscapes

  • Exposure to AI/ML applications in finance or data-driven product leadership

Preferred Attributes

  • Public speaking and representation experience at the international level

  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Tajik or Russian is a plus

  • Experience working in or with emerging and frontier markets

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Technology Policy, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred)
